The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has dismissed as false claims in a viral audio recording that a civilian pick-up truck was allowed to enter the 5 Battalion of Infantry’s Magazine to transport boxes of ammunition to an undisclosed location.

In a statement issued on December 25, 2024, the GAF urged the public to disregard the allegations, clarifying that the vehicle in question was transporting a live cow to be quarantined before being relocated to a nearby kraal.

“The information in the audio is false and should be treated with the contempt it deserves,” the statement read.

The GAF also emphasized the importance of verifying security-related information before sharing it, warning that unverified claims could fuel unnecessary tension and cause fear, particularly during sensitive times.

“Such actions create unnecessary fear and panic,” the statement continued, urging the public to contact the GAF’s Department of Public Relations for accurate information.

The military reaffirmed its commitment to Ghana’s stability and sovereignty and urged citizens to act responsibly in promoting peace and security.
