The Human Rights Court in Ghana has dismissed a legal case filed by Charles Bissue against the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and the Kaneshie District Court, ruling that Bissue’s claims were baseless. The court also imposed a GH¢10,000 cost against Bissue, citing his actions as a waste of judicial time and an attempt to mislead the court.

Bissue had previously secured a 10-day injunction to prevent the OSP from arresting him, claiming that the office had unlawfully obtained an arrest warrant. However, the court found that no such warrant had ever been issued. Justice Nana Brew, presiding over the case, confirmed that a thorough review of the case file revealed no evidence supporting Bissue’s allegations.

The judge emphasized that it was Bissue’s responsibility to prove that the Kaneshie District Court had issued an arrest warrant at the request of the OSP. However, he failed to do so, with Justice Brew concluding that the alleged warrant was “a figment of the applicant’s imagination.”

As a result, the court dismissed Bissue’s application and ordered him to pay GH¢10,000 in costs to the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
