President Nana Akufo-Addo is set to commission the newly constructed Flower Pot Interchange in Accra on November 19, 2024. The announcement was made by Eugene Arhin, Communications Director at the Presidency, who noted the project’s significance in improving transport flow and easing congestion in the capital.
The Flower Pot Interchange features an 800-meter flyover extending from the Palace Mall on Spintex Road to Boundary Road in East Legon. It complements the recently completed underpass and serves as a vital alternative route for north-south traffic across the Accra-Tema Motorway. Additional enhancements include ramps linking Spintex to the motorway, a redesigned Flowerpot roundabout, and access to East Legon via the old tunnel.
