Former President John Mahama has commenced a two-day tour of the Oti Region as part of his #Mahama4Change2024 campaign.
Starting from Kwamekrom in the Biakoye constituency, Mr Mahama is expected to address critical issues affecting the region and the nation.
Fresh from attending a peace campaign launch by religious leaders, the presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) aims to underscore his commitment to unity and stability.
In a social media post, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, the special aide to the former president disclosed that Mr Mahama’s campaign promises would include a $10 billion BIG PUSH infrastructure initiative, a 24-hour economy plan, and a “one million coders” program.
She further explained that the next NDC government would create a Women’s Development Bank to empower women entrepreneurs and launch a National Apprentice Programme to provide young people with practical job skills.
“Mahama recognises that women play a pivotal role in the economy and, together with Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, are committed to empowering women entrepreneurs through the Women’s Development Bank to support women businesses to thrive and facilitate access to capital,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
Mogtari highlighted that Mr Mahama’s visit will involve meetings with local leaders, residents, and business owners, where he will outline his vision for “Building the Ghana We Want Together.”
