Gifty Oware-Mensah, a former Deputy Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), has been granted bail following her detention by the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) over allegations of payroll fraud during her tenure at the agency.
According to sources,Mrs. Oware-Mensah, who also serves as an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), was released on Saturday after several hours of questioning. The exact conditions of her bail, however, remain unclear.
Her arrest follows a high-profile investigation into alleged financial misconduct at the NSA, where it is claimed that fraudulent payroll activities occurred during her time in office. The case has drawn significant public attention, with many keenly observing developments surrounding the former NSA official’s involvement in the scandal.
The NIB is investigating Oware-Mensah’s role in the scheme, which allegedly involved the use of “ghost names” to siphon off state funds intended for National Service personnel allowances.
