Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, has expressed confidence in achieving a 60% victory in the ongoing elections in her constituency.

Koomson, who is seeking re-election, acknowledged the electoral challenges faced in the area, particularly referencing the gun violence that occurred at the Steps to Christ Centre during the 2020 elections, which left one person injured. Despite this history, she emphasized her commitment to maintaining a peaceful electoral process.

“It is God who determines my victory, not my own strength, so the winning percentage is also in His hands. However, I am not expecting anything less than 60%,” she stated.

As a seasoned politician, Koomson vowed to avoid engaging in petty disputes with her opponents. “This election will not be a repeat of past encounters. From the start of 2021, I promised that in this 2024 election, I will not stoop to such levels,” she said.

Koomson also addressed rumors of ballot stuffing that circulated in the Ga South Municipality, asserting that the constituency is firmly behind her candidacy. “Even if my opponent provokes me, I will remain unfazed for now. However, once the election is over, I will respond appropriately. Until then, I will maintain my composure,” she added.
