The Ministry of Health has suspended the principal of Nkanchina College of Nursing, Fredrick Anaba, amid allegations that the institution admitted more students than authorized and introduced academic programs without approval.

The ministry said the suspension, effective immediately, will remain in place while officials conduct an administrative investigation into the matter.

In a statement dated March 12, 2026, Isaac Ofei Baah, the ministry’s head of public relations, said the decision followed a formal query issued to Mr. Anaba on Feb. 19 regarding admissions for the 2025–2026 academic year.

After reviewing the principal’s response, the ministry determined that a broader inquiry was required to clarify the circumstances surrounding the admissions and the introduction of new programs.

Mr. Anaba has been directed to hand over administrative and managerial responsibilities to the acting vice principal to ensure the institution continues to operate without disruption.
The ministry said it would provide further updates after the investigation concludes.

Officials also reiterated the government’s commitment to enforcing admission quotas and ensuring that health training institutions operate only within approved academic programs.
