When it comes to viral hepatitis, many people have limited or no knowledge about the disease, despite the fact that many are living with it. Since symptoms often only appear when the disease has reached a critical stage, little can be done to help, or the help provided may not be enough to save the situation.
Speaking at a media engagement on in Accra, Dr Amoako stressed the need to prioritize education, screening for viral Hepatitis and accessible treatment to prevent further spread and reduce fatal complications such as liver cancer.
