Ghanaian musician Fameye has expressed his desire to collaborate with international artists for the upcoming remix of his hit song “Very Soon.” In an interview with Delay on February 3, 2025, Fameye revealed his interest in featuring American rap icons Lil Wayne or J. Cole, or Nigerian music superstars Davido or Asake.

“I’m working on featuring a Nigerian or American rapper on the ‘Very Soon’ remix,” Fameye said, explaining his preference for high-profile artists from both sides of the Atlantic. “The American rappers I’m interested in are Lil Wayne and J. Cole, while for Nigerian artists, it would be Davido or Asake. Some people on social media criticized me when I said I resonated with Asake, but I didn’t take it seriously.”

The 2024 release of Fameye’s song “Very Soon” has propelled him to new heights, and he aims to further build on this success with a strong showing at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA). Fameye stated that his efforts in 2024 deserve recognition beyond a single award. “I worked hard in 2024 and I deserve more than one award. I’m not just focused on ‘Very Soon,’ but also aiming for best video, best collaborations, most popular song of the year, artist of the year, and even songwriter of the year,” he added.

The music video for “Very Soon” has already amassed over 2.4 million views on YouTube, solidifying the song’s popularity.
