Blasting activities linked to the Kasoa-Winneba road expansion project in Ghana have caused significant property damage in Dabenyin, a community in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
Nag Fairmount Constructions Limited, the firm managing the project, conducted the blast on Monday, sending rock fragments flying into nearby residential areas. The debris inflicted varying levels of damage to buildings, including a fully completed 16-bedroom apartment and a two-bedroom apartment still under construction.

Residents have expressed concern over the lack of accountability from the authorities and the construction company. While some homeowners have repaired parts of their damaged properties, they are calling on the company to assume full responsibility for the destruction.
Unlike a similar incident at Buduburam, which resulted in loss of life, no casualties were reported in Dabenyin. However, residents fear future blasts could pose greater risks if preventive measures are not taken.
