Linda Akweley Ocloo, Ghana’s Greater Accra Regional Minister-designate, has set a new record for the fastest vetting in recent parliamentary history. On Tuesday, January 28, Ocloo completed her vetting session before the Parliamentary Appointments Committee in under 10 minutes, with no questions from committee members.

The brief session saw Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, praising Ocloo’s strong support team, suggesting their presence was proof of her qualifications. Committee Chairman Bernard Ahiafor quickly acknowledged the delegation and discharged her without delay.

If confirmed, Ocloo, the MP for Shai Osudoku, is expected to focus on key issues like urban development, youth empowerment, and improving public services in the Greater Accra Region.

The swift vetting stands in stark contrast to the drawn-out session of Defence Minister-nominee Dr. Omane Boamah, who faced more than four hours of intense questioning from the committee.
