President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Haruna Iddrisu as his Education Minister-designate, alongside several other key appointments. Iddrisu, a former Minority Leader in Parliament and a well-known political figure, is set to lead the Education Ministry. Governs Kwame Agbodza has been nominated to head the Roads and Highways Ministry.

In additional nominations, Eric Opoku has been named as Minister for Food and Agriculture, while Opare Addo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth Organiser, has been appointed to oversee the newly created Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment.

The nominations have been officially submitted to Parliament through Speaker Alban Bagbin for approval, with the Appointments Committee expected to conduct a thorough vetting process. The appointments follow a previous announcement of 10 regional ministerial nominees, as President Mahama moves swiftly to assemble a team to advance his governance agenda.
