President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Justina Nelson as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF), effective immediately.

Her appointment follows the revocation of Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng’s appointment just a day earlier.

Nelson, who is currently a Group Head at Zenith Bank overseeing both the energy and commercial banking sectors, brings a wealth of experience in the mining and finance industries. She has previously held senior positions in both the private and public sectors.

A statement from the Presidency confirmed the appointment, noting that it was made in accordance with Article 195 (1) of the Constitution and Section 21 (2) of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) Act, 2018 (Act 978).

Nelson holds a Master of Laws in Corporate and Commercial Law, an MBA in Marketing, and two Bachelor’s degrees – one in Law (LLB Hons) and another in Management and Psychology. She also earned qualifications from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the University of Ghana.
