Mahama Appoints Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle as Acting CEO of Petroleum Commission

President John Mahama has appointed Victoria Emeafa Hardcastle, a seasoned legal practitioner, as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Commission.

The appointment, announced in a statement on Friday, January 17, 2025, is in line with the Constitution and the Petroleum Commission Act. It is subject to receiving the necessary advice from the Commission’s Board and the Public Services Commission.

Victoria, who has previously served on the Board of the Petroleum Commission, brings a wealth of experience from the energy sector. She has also held roles such as Deputy Head of the Economic Section at the Swiss Embassy and worked with Hogan and Lovell in the UK through the International Lawyers for Africa program.

The appointment takes effect immediately.
