Mahama calls for expedited investigation into Ahmed Suale’s killing

President John Dramani Mahama has urged authorities to accelerate the investigation into the killing of Ahmed Suale, a prominent journalist and member of the Tiger Eye PI team. His comments came during a courtesy call by Efua Ghartey, president of the Ghana Bar Association, on March 26, 2025.

The police recently arrested Daniel Owusu Koranteng, a former associate of Suale, in connection with the murder. Koranteng has been charged with the crime, and Mahama emphasized the importance of a swift and thorough interrogation, which could potentially lead to further arrests and bring closure to the case.

The  President reiterated his commitment to human rights and called for the expedited prosecution of individuals responsible for high-profile killings, including that of opposition politician JB Danquah. Mahama also urged law enforcement to prioritize investigations into unresolved murders, such as the Suale case, noting that the swift handling of such cases would be vital for justice.

“We are hopeful that the interrogation of the first suspect will lead to additional arrests. Investigations into cases like the JB Danquah murder must also be fast-tracked,” Mahama stated.
