President-elect John Dramani Mahama has established a five-member team tasked with gathering public reports on suspected corruption cases.
A press statement issued on Wednesday, 18th December, and signed by the Spokesperson for the Mahama Transition Team, outlined that the newly formed body will serve as a channel for citizens to report corruption-related issues.
The statement underscored Mahama’s commitment to addressing corruption and ensuring the responsible management of public resources.
The team will be chaired by Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu. Other members include former Auditor-General Daniel Domelevo, retired Commissioner of Police Nathaniel Kofi Boakye, legal practitioner Martin Kpebu, and investigative journalist Raymond Archer.
The team’s expertise is expected to strengthen this anti-corruption initiative, which is part of Mahama’s broader effort to restore public trust and reinforce institutions tasked with tackling corruption.
The initiative aims to complement existing anti-corruption mechanisms and encourage greater citizen participation in the fight against corruption.
