Mahama Names Interim National Security Team, Led by Prosper Bani

President-elect John Mahama has appointed a six-member interim national security team to oversee the country’s security ahead of substantive appointments.

The team will be headed by Prosper Douglas Bani, the former Minister for the Interior. Other members include Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd.), former Chief of Defence Staff, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, former Minister for National Security, and Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., former National Security Coordinator.

The team is completed by Brigadier General Fuseini Iddrissu (Rtd.) and COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.).

The group will begin its mandate on 7 January 2025, according to a statement from Mahama’s special aide, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.
