John Dramani Mahama, the president-elect following Ghana’s December 7, 2024 general elections, has named a team to oversee the smooth transition of power. In line with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845), the appointed individuals will work closely with representatives of the outgoing administration to ensure an orderly handover.
The newly-formed transition team consists of experienced professionals from various sectors, including finance, governance, and public administration.
The key members of the Joint Transition Team include:

Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey – Member
Dr. Callistus Mahama – Member/Secretary
Dr. Valerie Sawyer – Member
Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi – Member
Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson – Member
Hon. Mahama Ayariga – Member
Hon. Goosie Tanoh – Member
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah – Member
Additionally, former Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho has been nominated to serve on the Transitional Advisory Council.
The team’s formation is part of the preparations for a smooth political transition as Ghana prepares for its next phase of governance.
