President John Mahama has pledged immediate action to address the dangerous river crossing faced by pupils in the Asuokow community in the Eastern Region, who risk their lives every day to access their education.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, February 9, Mahama assured residents that the issue had been identified, and urgent steps were being taken to find a permanent solution. He shared that Owen Kwame Frimpong, the Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim, visited the community earlier and confirmed that the Eastern Regional Minister would also be involved in efforts to resolve the situation.
“The community has been identified, and we are committed to swiftly and permanently resolving the challenge faced by the residents and school children,” Mahama wrote.
The president also highlighted that his “Reset Ghana” agenda prioritizes the removal of obstacles to education and healthcare, ensuring equal opportunities for all Ghanaians.
“Our mission to Reset Ghana is about breaking down the barriers to education and healthcare, so that every Ghanaian has access to the opportunities they deserve,” he added.
