Presidential Advisor Joyce Bawah Mogtari has formally demanded a public apology, retraction, and GHS 10 million in damages from Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC, over alleged defamatory remarks made during a March 2025 interview on Net 2 TV.
In a letter dated April 3, 2025, Madam Mogtari’s legal counsel, R.O. Solomon Consulting, accused Abronye DC of making “false, reckless, and malicious” statements. The claims included accusations that Mogtari had been discouraged from seeking a ministerial position and instead opted for a presidential staffer role, reportedly with a monthly salary of GHS 95,000. Abronye DC further alleged that her position was “stress-free” and had led to a decline in her respect for the Ghanaian public.
These remarks, which have been widely disseminated through outlets such as GhanaWeb, are said to have caused significant reputational harm and public ridicule for Mrs. Mogtari. Her legal team has demanded that Abronye retract his statements and issue a public apology across the same platforms that aired the allegations. If these demands are not met, they warn of impending legal action.

The letter also underscored that while the right to free speech is constitutionally protected, it does not extend to the dissemination of falsehoods intended to damage reputations.
