Namibian President Nangolo Mbumba has congratulated John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) following his victory in Ghana’s 2024 general elections.

In a press release dated December 9, President Mbumba extended heartfelt congratulations to Mahama and the NDC, describing the election result as a reflection of the Ghanaian people’s commitment to democracy and the rule of law.

“The election of H.E. Mahama is a testament to the trust the people of Ghana have placed in his leadership and his dedication to their development,” Mbumba said.

He also highlighted the strong ties between Namibia and Ghana, which stem from shared historical struggles for independence. “I look forward to working closely with President-Elect Mahama to further strengthen our bilateral relations for the benefit of both nations,” Mbumba added.

The Namibian President wished Mahama wisdom and success as he begins his leadership mandate, expressing hope that his presidency will bring growth, unity, and prosperity to Ghana.
