National Security Coordinator, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Abdul Osman Razak, is leading a government delegation to the town of Nkwanta in the Oti Region after violent clashes left five people dead and many others injured.

The clashes, which occurred last week, have raised significant security concerns in the area. While the cause of the violence remains unclear, reports indicate that gunfire was exchanged during the unrest, leading to widespread panic and causing residents to flee their homes.

Several families have been displaced, and many are seeking refuge in surrounding communities. Local schools have been closed, and businesses in the area are struggling to operate due to the ongoing instability.

The violence has put a strain on local healthcare facilities, with some victims receiving treatment for serious injuries. There have been calls for urgent government intervention to provide support to the affected community and restore calm to the region.
