Ministry of National Security has denied allegations linking its officers to the reported kidnapping of Sylvia Baah, an Airport Services Manager for Emirates Airlines at Kotoka International Airport.

The Ministry issued a statement on Monday, November 25, rejecting claims published by the Herald Newspaper that officers from the Ministry and the National Intelligence Bureau were involved in the abduction.

The statement described the allegations as baseless and assured the public of an internal investigation. It further emphasised that anyone found culpable would face the full force of the law. The Ministry urged the public to treat the claims with caution.

Police Investigation

The Ghana Police Service launched an investigation into the incident on Friday, November 22, following reports that Ms. Baah had been abducted at the entrance of her Accra residence on Thursday, November 21.

In an update on Saturday, November 23, police confirmed Ms. Baah had been successfully rescued and reunited with her family. Authorities said efforts to apprehend the suspects were ongoing and reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring justice.

The incident has drawn public attention, with many calling for a swift resolution to the case.
