Dr. Joe Anokye, the Director-General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), has officially commenced his terminal leave, effective January 7, 2025.

In a letter sent to key industry figures, including CEOs of major telecommunications companies, Dr. Anokye explained that his decision to step down was due to the ongoing government transition. “As you are also aware, the Government is transitioning, and with that, it is time for me to bow out as the Director-General of the NCA,” he wrote, as reported by Asaase Radio.

Dr. Anokye expressed his gratitude for the support and cooperation from industry stakeholders during his tenure, which began in 2017. He also urged continued collaboration with his two Deputy Directors-General throughout the transition period.

His departure marks the end of his leadership at the NCA, a period marked by significant changes and challenges in the communications sector.
