The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced a collaboration with mobile network operators (MNOs) to ensure uninterrupted telecommunication services during and after the upcoming election period on December 7.

To facilitate this initiative, the NCA has established a situation room at its monitoring center, where it will oversee media communications and escalate any related complaints to the MNOs.

Prof. Ezer Osei Yeboah-Boateng, Deputy Director-General in charge of Technical Operations at the NCA, emphasized the importance of seamless communication during the electoral process. He stated, “Telecommunications play a very critical role in communication and information dissemination during the electioneering period.”

He added that the situation room has been set up to manage communications effectively, explaining, “We will be working in collaboration with our stakeholders and the MNOs. If we receive any information from the public, we can relay it to the MNOs for necessary action. Conversely, if we receive reports from the MNOs, we will take the appropriate steps to ensure uninterrupted communication services throughout the period.”

The NCA’s proactive measures aim to enhance the integrity of the electoral process by ensuring reliable communication channels for voters and stakeholders alike.
