The Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nii Ashie Moore, has insisted that the party won 31 out of the 34 constituencies in the region in the recent elections.

His remarks came in response to the Electoral Commission’s (EC) announcement that it would not accept the results from certain constituencies, including Ablekuma North, Tema Central, Okaikwei Central, and Dome-Kwabenya, due to irregularities in the collation process. EC Chairperson Jean Mensa revealed that results from some polling stations in Okaikwei Central and Ablekuma North were excluded or not properly collated.

Ashie Moore, however, rejected these claims, stating that he personally visited the collation centres in the disputed constituencies, where results were announced and certified. “The results were declared, and party agents, including myself, witnessed the process,” he said.

He expressed confidence that the 31 NDC Members of Parliament (MPs) elected in Greater Accra would be sworn in on January 6, 2025, and vowed to use all legitimate means to ensure the candidates are duly recognised.

Additionally, Ashie Moore commended the party’s supporters for their efforts in securing the region’s victory, pledging that they would be rewarded for their contributions to the success of John Dramani Mahama.
