The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has reportedly obtained a court injunction to halt the re-collation of parliamentary results for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency.

The legal action comes amid rising tensions and allegations of discrepancies in the election results. The injunction seeks to stop the Electoral Commission’s (EC) ongoing re-collation process, which aims to resolve disputes over the results in Nsawam-Adoagyiri, as well as other constituencies.

On December 12, the EC initiated a re-collation of results for four constituencies in the Eastern Region: Suhum, Nsawam, Fanteakwa North, and Akwatia. These constituencies have been at the centre of disputes concerning the initial collation process.

The re-collation, which began at the National Police Training School in Tesano, Accra, was intended to address the disagreements between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP). However, the process was delayed by ongoing disagreements, with the NDC raising concerns over discrepancies in the EC’s original pink sheets, which further complicated the proceedings on the second day.
