The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on its supporters to exercise caution and refrain from premature celebrations until the official results of the 2024 general elections are announced.

In a press briefing, NDC Communications Director Sammy Gyamfi stressed the importance of vigilance as the collation of results continues across the country. “Although the polls have closed, I urge all party members and supporters to remain calm and avoid any form of jubilation until the Electoral Commission declares the official results. This is a critical period, and we must act responsibly to ensure that the process is credible and peaceful,” Gyamfi stated.

He further encouraged party agents and representatives present at various collation centers to stay focused, monitor the proceedings closely, and report any irregularities promptly to maintain transparency in the electoral process.

The NDC’s statement comes as preliminary results begin to emerge from polling stations nationwide, amid heightened anticipation among supporters. “You only jubilate after the declarations of the results by the EC at the collation center,” Gyamfi concluded.
