The youth wing of Ghana’s National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling for the immediate declaration of their Parliamentary Candidate (PC) as the winner of the 2024 elections, following a fire at the Electoral Commission’s (EC) regional office.

The blaze, which damaged the EC’s office, has raised concerns over the security and integrity of the electoral process. NDC youth have alleged that the incident could be an attempt to disrupt the election results.

In their statement, the NDC youth called on the EC to promptly declare their PC as the winner, citing irregularities in the election and expressing fears that the fire could impact the final tally of votes.

The EC has yet to comment on the cause of the fire, and an investigation is underway. The incident has added to growing tensions surrounding the election, with both NDC supporters and their opponents closely watching developments.
