Grammy-nominated singer Davido has revealed how his father’s teachings on faith have had a lasting impact on his life and helped him navigate personal challenges.

In a recent interview on the Rollingout podcast, the Nigerian artist spoke about growing up in a Christian household where his father, a successful businessman and church elder, instilled strong values of trust in God.

One key piece of advice from his father that Davido shared was: “Never question God’s plans.” The singer explained how this lesson became a source of strength, particularly in the wake of the tragic death of his son, Ifeanyi.

Although he initially struggled to understand the advice, Davido said that over time, particularly after experiencing significant blessings—including the birth of twins, a successful album, and Grammy nominations—he began to comprehend its meaning.

Reflecting on his journey, Davido said his father’s wisdom has been vital in helping him trust in God’s plan, even during the toughest times. He encouraged others to adopt a similar mindset, stressing that despite life’s difficulties, “God has your back.”

Davido grew up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and attended a Christian college. Despite facing numerous challenges, he credits his father’s guidance for providing the strength to overcome them.
