The National Investigations Bureau (NIB) has released Kwaku Ohene Djan, former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), after several days of detention in connection with the ongoing investigation into the NSA scandal.

Mr. Djan had been in custody as authorities sought to determine his involvement in alleged financial mismanagement and misconduct at the NSA. The scandal, which has garnered public attention, revolves around accusations of fraudulent activity, financial misappropriation, and systemic inefficiencies that have resulted in significant losses to the state.

Sources indicate that Mr. Djan’s detention was part of a broader investigation into irregularities within the NSA, which has implicated several current and former officials of the authority. The inquiry is ongoing, with authorities looking into a range of allegations surrounding the agency’s financial operations.

Following his release on February 24, the NIB noted that Mr. Djan remains a person of interest in the investigation. While his legal team asserts he is fully cooperating, the former NSA official could be summoned again for further questioning, depending on the progress of the probe.
