Joshua Alabi, Campaign Manager for John Dramani Mahama, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of prioritising electoral manipulation over presenting concrete policies during Ghana’s December 7 general elections.

In an interview with TV3 Ghana, Alabi criticised the NPP for allegedly concentrating on unfair strategies to influence the election results, while the National Democratic Congress (NDC) focused on directly engaging with voters.

He pointed to the NDC’s strong grassroots support, attributing it to the party’s clear messaging and visible presence during the campaign. According to Alabi, the electorate appreciated the NDC’s commitment to addressing their concerns and ensuring a fair electoral process.

“The NDC campaigned well, with effective messages, and our presence was felt nationwide,” Alabi said. “Our strategy focused on engagement, while the NPP was reportedly more concerned with how to manipulate the election outcome.”

He also mentioned that NDC supporters had expressed concern about vote security, with many pledging their support but urging the party to safeguard the ballots. “We assured them we would protect the votes,” Alabi added.

In his remarks, Alabi emphasised that the NDC’s efforts to engage with voters directly gave the party a stronger connection with the electorate, boosting its appeal across the country.
