The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has issued a stern warning to Assin South Member of Parliament, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, for his continued refusal to cooperate with investigations into allegations of drug trafficking.
Alexander Twum Barimah, Deputy Director-General of NACOC, spoke on Eyewitness News on April 8, 2025, and expressed frustration with Fordjour’s lack of response to official summons. Despite repeated attempts to engage him through formal channels, the MP has failed to comply, raising concerns over his reluctance to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.
Mr. Twum Barimah emphasized that the situation has now extended beyond NACOC’s jurisdiction and is being managed by national security agencies. “If this continues, we will have no choice but to take further action,” he warned, adding that the matter was now under the purview of national security forces.
The Deputy Director-General clarified that any potential arrest would not be carried out by NACOC but by the relevant authorities. The escalating issue has prompted fears of serious legal consequences for the MP if he refuses to engage with the authorities.
