Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II has been re-elected as president of the National House of Chiefs in Ghana for a second term.

He secured 42 votes, defeating his sole challenger, Osaagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, the Chief of Dormaa, who polled 30 votes. One ballot was rejected.

In the race for the Vice President position, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II emerged victorious with 52 votes, outpacing three other contenders.

The election, however, faced delays as the House addressed a legal suit filed by the Sampa Chief, Nana Samgba Gyafla.

The National House of Chiefs serves as a key advisory body on traditional and cultural matters in Ghana.
