The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of Ghana’s 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
In a statement issued on December 2, 2024, the OSP emphasized that it is deploying its full anti-corruption mandate to prevent, detect, and punish corruption, fraud, and other illegal activities related to the elections. The office stressed the importance of transparency and accountability throughout the electoral process.

The OSP issued a stern warning to election officials, particularly those involved in vote counting, collation, and the transmission of results. It reminded them that willfully falsifying vote counts or submitting false results is a serious criminal offence.
The office also highlighted the legal prohibitions against corrupt practices, including vote buying, vote selling, voter intimidation, threats of violence, and impersonating a voter or electoral official.
Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng assured the public that the OSP would remain vigilant and take immediate action against any violations. “The Office is fully aware of its responsibilities and will swiftly address any instances of corruption or misconduct that come to its attention,” he said.
