The Appointments Committee has announced new dates for the vetting of President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial nominees. The process will now begin on Monday, January 20, 2025, and run through Monday, January 27, 2025.

Sessions will be held daily at 9:00 a.m. in Committee Rooms 1 and 2 of the New Administration Block, where lawmakers will scrutinize the qualifications, experience, and readiness of the nominees for their appointed roles. The committee will pay special attention to evaluating the suitability of individuals for key national and regional positions.

This move comes as part of Parliament’s constitutional duty to ensure that qualified and competent officials are appointed to public office. The vetting, initially set to start on January 23, was rescheduled to ensure a smooth and timely confirmation process for Mahama’s new cabinet.
