The Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has named Pearl Nkrumah as the new Chairperson of its Council, following the resignation of John Kofi Adomakoh, who stepped down in January 2025 after leaving his role as Managing Director of GCB Bank PLC.
Madam Nkrumah, who joined the GSE Council in September 2023, brings over 25 years of experience in the banking industry. She currently serves as the Executive Director for Retail and Digital Banking at Access Bank Ghana, where she has been instrumental in driving digital transformation and retail growth.
Her academic credentials include an MBA and a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Ghana, an LLB from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration, and a diploma in corporate governance from the Corporate Governance Institute in the UK. Nkrumah has also completed executive training at Harvard Business School.
Her appointment, which took effect on February 21, 2025, signals a new chapter for the GSE as it looks to strengthen its position in Ghana’s financial sector. The GSE has expressed strong confidence in Nkrumah’s ability to provide visionary leadership and drive innovation for the exchange.
