President Mahama appoints Ato Forson as Finance Minister

Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Finance Minister-designate, John Jinapor as Minister for Energy-designate, and Dominic Ayini as Attorney-General and Minister for Justice-designate.

In a statement released on January 9, the presidency confirmed that the nominations have been submitted to Parliament for approval, in accordance with Article 78 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution.

These appointments mark the first set of ministerial nominations by President Mahama, who is expected to continue shaping his administration’s leadership ahead of the upcoming parliamentary approval process.
