Brazilian defender Eder Militão is likely to miss the remainder of the season after the club confirmed that he has torn his ACL. This is the defender’s second injury of this kind in as many seasons.

“Following tests carried out today on Eder Militão by Real Madrid’s medical department, the player has been diagnosed with a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament with damage to both meniscuses in his right leg,” the club explained in an official statement.

“Militão will undergo surgery in the coming days,” the statement continued.

Militão was forced off in the 30th minute of Real Madrid’s LaLiga game against Osasuna on Saturday and was stretchered off the field.
