Samuel Nartey George, Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, has issued a stern warning to the outgoing government, cautioning against the signing and backdating of contracts after the 2024 general elections.

In a Facebook post on Thursday, George, a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), stated that the incoming administration of President-elect John Dramani Mahama would not recognise any contracts signed under these conditions.

He specifically called out efforts to finalise a contract through the Ghana.gov platform, urging such actions to cease immediately.

“These attempts undermine the integrity of governance and accountability during the transition period,” George wrote, emphasising that the incoming government is closely monitoring ongoing contract activities.

The MP reassured the public that any agreements made in this manner would be deemed illegitimate by the new government. “We are monitoring all activities currently underway regarding the signing and backdating of contracts. Notice is duly served,” he said.

George’s statement highlights the NDC’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and smooth transition of power while safeguarding public resources. He urged the outgoing administration to act in good faith and refrain from any actions that could compromise the process.
