Minister for Communications, Sam George, has announced a special Independence Day data bundle offer, in collaboration with the nation’s leading telecom operators.

Under the directive of President John Mahama, MTN Ghana, Telecel Ghana, and AT Ghana will offer a GHC10 bundle providing 6GB of data—significantly more than the usual 1GB or 3GB typically available at the same price on public holidays.

The Ningo Prampram MP shared the details of the initiative on his Facebook page following the March 6 Independence Day celebrations at Jubilee House. Mr. George emphasized that the move aligns with the government’s broader strategy to foster digital transformation and improve internet accessibility for Ghanaians.

“This initiative underscores our commitment to building a digitalized Ghana, allowing Ghanaians to tap into the opportunities of a connected world from the comfort of their homes,” George wrote.

In addition to the one-off bundle, the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology, and Innovations is set to unveil both short- and long-term plans on March 7 aimed at further reducing data costs nationwide. This initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to make internet access more affordable and widely accessible.
