The Ghana Police Service has launched an investigation into a dramatic incident that happened at the premises of Accra-based Metro TV on Wednesday morning, November 27, 2024.
The commotion, which drew significant attention, unfolded as police officers were said to be forcing their way into a studio of the television station.
“Preliminary Police investigations indicate that upon a request from the court, Police Officers accompanied a court bailiff in the company of the judgment creditor, Vodacom Business (Ghana) Limited, to execute a court order against Metro TV,” the Police explained in a statement.
The police further urged Metro TV’s management and staff, as well as the general public, to stay calm and cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.
The situation has sparked conversations about corporate disputes, media freedom, and the role of law enforcement in executing legal mandates.
