Professor Ransford Gyampo has addressed critics who questioned his neutrality after being appointed as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA) by President John Dramani Mahama.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, Gyampo thanked President Mahama for the opportunity and emphasized that there can be no neutrality when one is tasked with correcting wrongs for the greater good of the nation. He wrote, “There can be no neutrality when one is tasked to help right what is wrong in the service of the NATION. Thank you President Mahama; and humbled by the many congratulatory texts. I’ll serve GHANA and remain the YAW GYAMPO that you all know.”

The appointment, which follows the tenure of Kwesi Baffour Sarpong under the Akufo-Addo administration, has sparked discussion on social media. However, Gyampo, a respected academic from the University of Ghana’s Political Science Department, remained steadfast in his commitment to public service.

His appointment was officially confirmed in a letter delivered by Dr. Calistus Mahama, Executive Secretary to the President, and marks a new chapter for the Ghana Shippers Authority, as Gyampo looks to bring his wealth of experience to the role.
