TRUMP DEFENDS CONTROVERSIAL MADISON SQUARE GARDEN RALLY AS ‘AN ABSOLUTE LOVEFEST’

Donald Trump defended his recent rally at Madison Square Garden, describing it as “an absolute lovefest” and expressing pride in his involvement. At his Mar-a-Lago resort, Trump remarked, “The love in that room was breathtaking,” and suggested that many more supporters could have attended.

The rally faced backlash for disparaging remarks, including a comedian’s comment labeling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” Allies have expressed concern that such language could harm Trump politically, particularly in battleground states like Pennsylvania, home to approximately 500,000 Puerto Ricans.

Despite the criticism, Trump did not address the remarks directly. Instead, he emphasized the positivity of the event, claiming veteran politicians noted it as “the most beautiful event.” He later framed himself as a supporter of Puerto Rico, stating, “No president’s done more for Puerto Rico than I have,” during a roundtable in Pennsylvania.
