Ursula Owusu-Ekuful Reflects on “Next Chapter” After Losing Ablekuma West Seat

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the outgoing Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West in the Greater Accra Region, has shared a reflective message following her defeat in last week’s parliamentary elections.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, 14 December, the Minister for Communications and Digitalisation said: “Next chapter in my life unfolding, so let’s see what He (God) has in store for me.” She went on to express gratitude for the opportunity to serve, saying, “Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to serve.”

Owusu-Ekuful, who had held the seat for eight years, also thanked her constituents with a heartfelt message: “Thank you, Ablekuma West!! Sayonara.” She added that she is facing the future with confidence.

The Communications Minister was defeated by Rev. Kweku Addo of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who secured 31,866 votes. Owusu-Ekuful garnered 26,575 votes in the election.
