The US Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia Palmer, has commended key stakeholders involved in the country’s December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections, praising the efforts of security officers and election officials.

Speaking in an interview with 3news, Palmer expressed her admiration for the planning and smooth execution of the elections. “I’m impressed with the conduct of the security officers and the poll officials. The level of planning leading up to the election was deeply impressive,” she said. “It’s been wonderful to see Ghana’s democracy in action.”

Palmer also urged any candidates or parties with concerns about the election results to seek legal redress through the courts. “Democratic institutions like the Electoral Commission and the courts are incredibly important,” she stated.

However, the Ambassador expressed sadness over the deaths of two individuals linked to the election, saying, “I was very sorry to hear that someone was killed.”
