Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, urged citizens to embrace compassion, unity, and fairness in a reflective Easter message delivered Friday, marking her first public statement following a brief medical recovery.

In a post shared on her official Facebook page on April 18, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang called on Ghanaians to use the Easter period—commemorating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ—as an opportunity to recommit to national values of empathy and inclusivity.

“I wish all Ghanaians a meaningful and peaceful Easter,” she wrote. “May this season reawaken in us the conviction to build a kinder, fairer nation—one that listens, uplifts, and holds space for every voice.”

The Vice President had been absent from the public eye in recent weeks due to health-related reasons. Her communications team had previously assured the public that she was receiving appropriate care and remained in high spirits.

The statement, viewed by many as a sign of renewed strength and resolve, was widely welcomed. It reinforced Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s commitment to national development and underscored her emphasis on dialogue and inclusion amid Ghana’s dynamic political landscape.
