The Adhoc Committee investigating the recent vetting chaos will resume its work on Friday, February 7, 2025, following an indefinite suspension on February 5.

In a Thursday interview on TV3’s New Day, Committee Chairman Emmanuel Bedzrah announced that the committee would continue its hearings with a public session to hear from witnesses, followed by an in-camera session for Members of Parliament (MPs) accused of destroying state property during the chaotic vetting process.

“We will hold a press conference today and inform the public of our next steps. Tomorrow, we’ll resume with the first part of the hearing, which will be public, where we’ll hear from witnesses,” Bedzrah explained. “The second phase will involve a private, in-camera hearing for the MPs identified as culprits. We will show them the video footage and then finalize our report to present to the House.”

The committee’s initial hearing, focused on the January 30 vetting disruption, was abruptly halted when the Clerk of Parliament withdrew staff, citing a lack of authorization from the Speaker to proceed.
