Sammy Awuku, Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has urged Ghanaians to choose “hope” over “hopelessness” in the upcoming 2024 general elections.

Speaking at the New Patriotic Party’s final rally at the University of Ghana Sports Park on December 5, Awuku emphasized that the next government, led by NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, would focus on job creation, enhancing the Free Senior High School (SHS) programme, and improving the financial stability of citizens.

“The upcoming election is a choice between hope and hopelessness, a contest between the future and the past,” Awuku told the crowd. “This election is about your destiny.”

He urged voters to prioritise policies like Free SHS, job creation, and economic empowerment, and rejected what he described as “fake promises” from the opposition. “This election is not about promises of nightclub shifts or three chicks—it’s about your future,” he said.

Meanwhile, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) held its final rally at Zurak Park in Madina on the same day.
