Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, the incoming Majority Leader of Ghana’s next Parliament, has called on the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to distinguish itself from the outgoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) government by prioritising the principles of integrity, probity, and accountability.
In a speech during Parliament’s first sitting following the December 7 general elections, Dr Forson urged the NDC and the incoming administration to focus on serving the needs of Ghanaians over political interests.
“We must not replicate the mistakes of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government,” he said. “We need to be different. Our actions must be guided by integrity, probity, and accountability.”
The NDC leader stressed that it was time to address the perceived failures of the NPP and fulfil the promises made to the Ghanaian public. He emphasised that policies should benefit the ordinary citizen rather than the political elite.
Dr Forson concluded by calling for a people-centred approach to governance, urging the new administration to avoid the errors of the past.
